Professor Kathy Christofidou holds a PhD in Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge and an MEng in Aerospace Materials Engineering from Imperial College London. Her research bridges alloy design and advanced manufacturing, focusing on the relationships between chemistry, processing, and material performance. She works at the industry-academia interface, developing methodologies to accelerate alloy design and high-throughput testing through machine learning and AI. She also leads the Advanced Metals Processing research area for the Henry Royce Institute, driving innovation in Materials 4.0, additive manufacturing, and machine learning for materials development.
