Francesca MacLennan is Director of Science Education and Engagement at The Oxford Trust, working to encourage the pursuit of science and inspire young people about STEM careers.  Formerly the Faraday Institution Head of Training and Talent Development, she has a wealth of experience from creating and leading a bespoke PhD Programme, researcher professional development initiatives and undergraduate attraction internships.  Collaborating closely with academics and industry partners, Francesca helped equip PhD researchers for a variety of roles in the sector. She developed a highly regarded PhD internship scheme which has proved pivotal for launching successful careers in academia, industry and policy making. Francesca was instrumental in driving the Institution’s mission to create a dynamic and diverse pool of talent for the battery technology sector in the UK and is an experienced leader and education professional.  She is a Fellow of the Primary Science Teaching Trust and trustee of the ENTHUSE Charitable Trust.
