Miriam Apsley is a Senior Mathematical Consultant. She joined Smith Institute in February 2022.
In her role, Miriam applies her expertise and experience in AI, machine learning, data science and optimisation to help Smith Institute’s clients solve a range of real-world challenges. She has worked on projects in energy, transport, and security, delivering a positive impact on the economy, society, and the environment.
Before joining Smith Institute, she earned her PhD researching continuum-scale battery simulation at the University of Cambridge. She also holds an MPhil in scientific computing and an MMath from the University of Cambridge.
Outside of work she enjoys challenging herself by participating in triathlons, and less strenuously with baking projects and reading.
